WORKSHOPS

Wondering what Lost Tools of Writing is all about? Experience the program for yourself with a hands-on workshop! Join other parents and teachers in this interactive online session as we discover the rudimentary persuasive essay from a student’s-eye view and learn what sets this program apart.

In this 2.5-hour class, adult participants will see firsthand how Lost Tools addresses:

  • the three challenges that face every writer

  • how to come up with an issue to write about

  • how to think of what to say about that issue

  • how to organize ideas and arrange them in an outline

  • how to lay the groundwork for clear structure and expression in writing

Whether you are new to the program or experienced, teaching it yourself or the parent of a student enrolled in a Lost Tools class, this workshop will lead you through the tips and tricks in the best way possible: by actually working through some lessons as a student! No books or preparation necessary (and I promise, no homework!). This class is intended for parents and teachers, but teens (12 and up) are welcome to attend and participate alongside a parent who is also attending live and participating. The Zoom class will be recorded for everyone who registers, but for best results, plan to attend live and join us in thinking through the Lost Tools of Writing.

Ages: Adults (and teens of adult participants—only one registration per household required)

Cost: $15
